20 Followers Celebration Giveaway!!

That's right, a zero didn't fall off. It's my 20 Follower Giveaway Extravaganza!!

My husband and I have had this running joke for the past few months:  when my blog hits 20 followers on Google Friend Connect, I'd do my first giveaway.  Lo and behold, a couple of weekends ago, I clicked over the magic number!!  So many blogs have the "500 follower" or "1,000 follower" giveaway but  really, the apocalypse is likely to be here before I hit that amount and life's too short not to celebrate the smaller things.  Besides, it took nearly 2 years to get beyond 20 so it's not that small really is it? :D

Anyway, please join me for a chuckle at my own expense and enjoy my first giveaway!

The Prizes:
  • Winner's choice a book to the value of $10AUD (it's about the same as US these days) from The Book Depository.
ETA:  Thanks to the most excellent Sean Kennedy, we now have prizes (plural).  Also up for grabs is:

To Enter:
  • Take a look around and tell me what is your favourite post/review and why.  (oh, come now; you didn't think I wouldn't make you work at least a little for it did you? *evil grin*)
  • You don't have to be a follower to enter and you don't have to become a follower to enter.  But, if you look around and you like it here, please feel free to follow my blog.  Who knows? Maybe I'll do another giveaway if I hit 50! :D

The Rules:
  • One entry per person
  • Giveaway open til 10th December 2011
  • I will draw 3 winners using random.org and post the winners' names here shortly afterwards as well as contacting the winners via email.
  • Leave a way for me to contact you in the comments so that I can let you know if you've won.
  • You should probably tell me which prize you would prefer also.
  • If the winners do not get back to me within 72 hours of my contact, I will draw new winner/s.
  • Competition open to everyone as long as The Book Depository ships to your country and/or you can read pdf ebooks.
  • Void where prohibited. No puppies were harmed in connection with this giveaway.

Ok, fine, I went and switched from subscribing via RSS to GFC. Congrats! Now you have 23 followers! :D

The Book Depository gift cert would be delightful - esp since I already own those books of Sean's! :)

(And I will mention this in linkity this week.)

D'oh! My favorite post(s) - the m/m romance ones, of course! ;)

Congrats, Kaetrin! :)

Well, I looked around and I have to say, that I liked the most your February Reads post, 'cause it included your review of Josh Lanyon's Fair Game. I wholeheartedly agree with what you said there! Though by now I love his work unconditionally - he's that good.

If I have to choose, I would pick a book from The Book Depository, or Tigers and Devils by Sean Kennedy, as I already have the Zombie book. :)

You have a lovely blog - I will stop by again. And thanks for this giveaway!

Oh LOL, Katrin, I love your celetration! (I know what how you feel) I'm with Chris though... I subscribe to your blog via RSS and DO read it.

I'm not going to participate in your giveaway, thank you! (I have the Kennedy books already *g*) But, I will follow. :D

I also subscribe via RSS, so read all the posts, jsut not where I have to log in to blogger each day (tho I'm SURE there's an easier way to see the blogs you "follow" and I just don't know about it, LOL).

Anyway... congrats on your celebration! Oh, and Aija, you should totally read Tigers and Devils. Sooooo good!

So anyway, just as an aside, I totally loved the fan letter to Pamela Clare (as well as agreed with everything you said :))

Yup - that worked! But I'm at work and using a different browser, LOL. FOr all I know it would have worked here today anyway :)

Well now your have 26 followers I joined GFC plus I signed for your email. I would have to say the review you did on Where Angels Fear To Tread by Stephanie Chong. I agree with you I don't get into that either in a book. Thanks for that review, cause I had this on my tbr list and in all the reviews that left out that part. I am so glad I didn't get this book, thats getting way too close to rape territory. I do not read those kinds of books to me there is nothing sexy about rape or forcing yourself on someone who is not interested. SO thanks for saving me the time on this book. So know I have room for another book in my huge tbr list lol. Oh The Book Depository gift certificate would be great. Thanks for the giveaway and congrats you will have a huge following before you know it.

I like the 5 posts where you either talked about how awesome I am or responded to my comment in recognition of how awesome I am.

I want the GC because I appear to have all of Sean's books.

For some unknown reason.

Kaetrin,
I loved your review of SOmthing Different--and I so agree. Your blog is new to me but I will definitely be back--you are a funny girl--really enjoyed it here!

Sammy

pdf of Tigers and Devils please--is that an Aussie story???

Hi Kaetrin! How could I not follow a fellow Aussie mother in their 40's? Lol. Having browsed your posts, I see we share a passion for Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews and M/M romance!

My favorite post - re Kiss of Snow review... You clearly stated the issues I had with it, particularly where Nalini painted herself into a plot corner with the mating thing...

My choice would be the BD gift certificate, as I too, have the books.... And I'd use it for Anne Aguire's Aftermath....

@sammy2008 yes Tigers and Devils is an m/m romance set in Melbourne against the backdrop of Aussie Rules football. An excellent book.

Thx everyone for the lovely comments! :)

I'm following. Before long you'll be at 27 or something wild. :-)

I'm liking your August reviews because they had the most m/m and I have to say you and I match pretty well on our opinions. I own Armor and Retrogrado and I know it's supposed to be well done, I like the author, but ... Closeted guys make me nuts and that is weird about the editing.

Congrats on your milestone. I have both of Sean's books already so the book g/c would be nice.

@Kris. You are indeed awesome. People who know you can be in no doubt. (That's 6!)

Kaetrin said...

@Tam I finished Hot Head the other day. I wonder if we will agree on that one too? I liked but did not love. Review to come! :)

(and, would you look at that? up to 30 followers now - it's a JUGGERNAUT!)

Thx everyone for visiting. :)

31!

I loved your Between Sinners and Saints (by Marie Sexton ) review. And I totally agree with "I understood why the book ended where it ended, but personally, I would have liked to have had the whole scene."
I could't believe when it just ended. *demanding a sequel or something!!*

I've already read Tigers and Devils. And LOVED it :) But the Book Depository gift certificate sounds great.

And Congrats!!!

Kaetrin said...

Hi Cayce. Thx for being number 31! :) Have you read I Fell in Love with a Zombie? No-one's signed up for it yet so your chances would be very very good!

I finished up my S.H. review - yours is better - and I agree with it!

I enjoyed your Unclaimed review too - I don't read a lot of Historical any more but I liked that one.I would have enjoyed more details on the HEA too!

@Brenda awww, thx! *beams*

Hey Kaetrin :)

LOL, see, a lot of people actually follow you through RSS :) So you had a lot more followers than you thought :)

Hmmm, can I cheat and say I like all your posts? LOL. Especially the reviews :) They're clear and we know why the book worked for you or didn't :)

awww thx Nath! :)

I see your comments a lot of times but have never realized you had a blog of your own. :) So, I will have a look around now and see what I like.
I've subscribed, so I'm not forgetting it again! ;) I'd love to win the gc.

Congratulations, Kaetrin!
Okay so I would have to say that my favorite portion was mention of Patricia Briggs' Alpha and Omega series. I love it even more than Mercy Thompson. I cannot wait for the third novel to come out in January.
Anyway, I am interested in the gift card. I have already read Sean's work.
Thanks very much!

I'm cutting it a little close in entering but here I go. Since I'm new to the m/m genre the thoughtful reviews on this blog given to those books influence me. They are a favorite and help me to decide what to read next. Like now I have to read Sean Kennedy. On that note, I am very interested in Tigers and Devils.
Congrats and Happy Holidays,
Marissa
